Not for everyone!
Boat is a 17’ Beaufort Sailing Dinghy and you will be crew, there are no passengers, but no experience needed, I can tell you when to move from one side of the boat to the other. No specialist kit or clothing needed, but warm clothes, change of clothes, waterproofs, and perhaps a flask of something warm. Buoyancy aids can be borrowed from my club.
We’ll launch 90 minutes before high water, and return after.
We’ll be out for less than three hours.
Date will be rolled over if there’s no interest, tides are suitable about every other weekend. (We can only launch at high tide).
30 minutes walk from Newington Station, 20 minutes ride from Rainham Station (for more trains).

I sail a cruising yacht, but always wanted to try dinghy sailing, sounds great.
ASAmanda SAmanda S: It’s a long way for you, but you’d be very welcome. It’s tidal sailing, so interesting.
on 14/10/24 @ 18:25It will be a weekend, and date set around the tide when the new tables are published.
Amanda S: and I always let my crew have the helm, I’m happier up on the foredeck!
Hello.. :)
OHOlaf-HikerThis sounds like a great opprtunity to spend the day.
I am sailing a "Leisure 17" in German waters around the town of Varel / Wilhelmshaven.
If my duty shifts allow, I may travel to the UK and join, but will let you know in time, for sure.
Feel welcome to sail in German waters s well.
